Paper Bows

After seeing so many gorgeous cards using paper bows, i thought i would give them a try and found them really easy to make, no more trying to find the correct ribbon colour to go with your project. Here are a couple of really simple cards using this paper technique.  Hope you like them.  TFL  xx

Die cuts and embossing.

It's been so long since i blogged and now my blog is the new set up, I hope this card appears, oh how i hate change.  This card was made with some die cuts that were given to me by my sister. i punched out some flowers and leaves and glittered then, which gives them a blue hue, which i quite like. The sentiment is one of my favourites which is computer generated.    Hope you like it.  TFL  x

Anja squares again

I made this card for my daughters boyfriends mum. She is 60 tomorrow and my daughter has arranged a surprise party for her with about 80 people invited, including me, lol. She thinks she is being taking out for a nice meal. I made this card using the lovely Anja squares , they are so pretty. The outside boarder is a Martha Stewart PATP. I embossed the background using the very popular tied together embossing folder. The little silver dots are peel off's. The rest of the card was made using a flower and leaf punch. For the centre of the flowers i used silver card candy. I hope she likes it. TFL xx

Anja squares

I spent a day at my sister SANDRA'S last week and we both made a couple of cards. This one was made using Papermania papers from the beautiful range, and it is truly beautiful, such pastel colours, I love it. I also used the Marianne Design Anja square die, which is so pretty. I finished off with a butterfly and some pearls. TFL xx

Diamond Anniversary

Anyone remember me lol, I haven't updated my blog for so long, the reason is that i haven't been into making cards. I completely lost my Mojo, then my sister asked if i could make an Anniversary card, so hopefully this has kick started it again... Now onto to my card..

Base card is 7.5 inches square easel, which i then stuck a slightly smaller square of silver mirri card, then a square cut from a Martha Stewart PATP, then the final square which i embossed with Tied Together embossing folder from Couture Creations. I decorated the embossed part with some some silver sticky back blobs (Haven't a clue what they are called). I done the sentiment on the PC and cut this out with a Nellies heart die. Added roses from Wild Orchids and a few silver punched out leaves. I tied a white bow to use as the stopper and added a few gems to decorate. The inside has been decorated the same. Hope you like it, TFL xx

Heart Easel

Made this easel card using a very pale blue backing paper and a selection of white die cuts of which some were donated to me by my sister. I inked the edges of the die cuts to make them stand out. The large flower was handmade which i then smothered in glitter glue, Aww... it's all twinkly and pretty. Hope you like it. TFL xx

LOTV

Decided to do something a bit different. OMG, although this looks a quick and easy card, because it is out of my comfort zone it took me forever. I just can't get me head around what embellishments to use and how to work out the layout. I used a LOTV image, Papermania capsule linen paper a Prima flower and Marianne leaves and corner die. The butterfly is cut from a Hobbycraft punch. The raffia and sentiment have been stapled on (get me). lol TFL xx

Flourish and flowers

I made this 6 inch card using a pretty oval frame that was given to me by my sister. I used a Cheery Lynn flourish in the centre. The flowers were made with a woodware punch which have been inked with Versa Magic chalk ink in Pixie Dust. I added pearls to the frame and also in the centre of the flowers. TFL xx

Pretty in Pink

As i have got a day off work today i decided to have a quick play in my craft room before i start on the dreaded housework. I used a 6 inch card blank, Papermania capsule collection paper , and a selection of die cuts. I inked the edges with Versamagic Pixie Dust ink, it's such a pretty colour. The flower is by Prima, which matches the paper perfectly. I finished off with a couple of stick pins and pearls. Hope you like it. TFL xx

Happy birthday

Another really quick card, this time using a fab digi available free from beccysplace. I printed the digi and stuck it to a strip of American card-stock in lilac. I coloured the flower with a promarker to match, a few scored lines and pearls were added to finish. Very simple but i really like it. TFL xx

One for the boys

Another card that i have made from scraps , using bits and pieces from my scrap box. I used a 6 inch card blank. The backing paper is some old Craftwork Card paper that i have had for years. The sentiment is computer generated. I embossed some lines using my Hougie Board . I added 3 red stars to add a bit of colour which were cut using an old sizzix die. Three black crystals were added to the centre of the stars to finish. Simples. TFL xx

2 cards from scraps

After a few "Busy" cards that i have recently made, I thought i would get back in my comfort zone . I made these 2 simple cards from pieces of card and paper from my scrap box. The flowers were cut using woodware punch. I added white pearls to the centre of the flowers to finish.

Now a question "" which do you prefer? The busy cards that i have recently made, or the really simple ones like these. "" TFL xx

Sorry for the awful photo's. I tried several times but they were all naff. lol

Spiral card.

I've been having a play and this is the result. I used a 6 inch browny green card blank, to which i matted some stamping up paper, then a square of cream card which was punched using a Martha Stewart set. I made the rosette by scoring a 12 " strip of paper at 1cm intervals then concertinaing it, joined the ends to form the rosette. I used a large rose from my stash. I used some die cut leaves given to me which i inked with Tim Holtz old paper distress ink. I punch a couple of butterflies and added some glitter to make them twinkle. The card was finished off with a few pearls. Hope you like it. TFL xx

Louis' new splints

Thought i would share a picture of Louis' new splints. These are what he has to wear to bed every night, he hates them. They are quite heavy and they make it hard for him to get comfortable. He asked his mum the other night, "How long have i got to wear these for" Bless his heart. They are to keep his feet and ankles in the correct position, to stop him getting contractures. xx

Die cuts and inking

I made this card using a selection of die cuts . The corners and leaves were kindly given to me by my sister Sandra. I used a spellbinders die for the centre and added a lovely large flower. Hero Arts shadow ink in sand  was used for a bit of definition. Some pearls were added  to finish.  TFL  xx

White & Silver

Another easel card, i always come back to them. After having a bit of a clear out in my craft room, i came across these pretty butterflies, so decided to use a couple.

This is a 6 inch easel card. I embossed a square with a craft concept embossing folder called VENUS which was attached to silver mirri card. The silver and white fancy backing plate i also came across on my room. I used a spellbinders label for the sentiment. A craftwork cards ribbon band was used as a stopper, then added 2 pretty butterflies and a couple of pearls to finish TFL xx

Tilda with added butterfly

I was asked by my daughter to make a card for her friends little girl Maisie, who will be 3. I used a donated Tilda image, a Martha Stewart PATP , a few dies and a couple of punches. The image has been coloured with eyeshadows, i really like the soft pastel look that was achieved.. Although I have a load of promarkers,i never use them, I find the colours too dark for my taste. I am thinking of getting a set of chalk pencils, if anybody has used these i would be interested in what you think of them.

I am off to Gillingham hospital with my daughter and Louis tomorrow, he has his wheelchair assessment, we have only been waiting for this appointment since 1st November, but that's another story. Bye for now xx

Cream on Cream

I made this card using a 6 inch cream card blank. The first layer is American cardstock in cream. I cut 4 corners using a Marianne Design die, which i inked through using Antique linen distress ink. (This is a first for me cos i,m not usually a inky person.) The 4 corners are raised with foam pads. i used a Nestie die for the next layer which i also inked before taking the cardstock from the die to achieve a nice clean boarder. I hand cut 2 flower shapes and adhered a pretty paper rose to the centre. I punched 4 small butterflies with a hobby craft punch which i decorated with pearls. I got the idea for this card from my sister Sandra ( she wont mind, she loves me, lol ) Sandra is new to blogging, do check out her blog, she has made some beautiful cards, you can see them HERE

Hope you like my card, TFL xx

Easter baskets and bags

On Sunday, weather permitting we are going to Greenwich Park for a Easter egg hunt. We have been going since my own children were young and now we take the grandchildren. We buy about 40 little eggs, Jim walks ahead of us and hides the eggs under trees and bushes and the boys have to find them, I love to see their little faces when they see one. It was only a few years ago that my daughter who is 29 discovered that is was us hiding them, she thought it was all arranged by the park, lol... I have made a bag each for Louis and Fray, and the 2 little baskets are for my sisters granddaughters. Hope you like them, TFL xx

Our very brave little man

We spent a very long day yesterday at Great Ormond Street Hospital with Louis. He has now been selected to go on the 5 year DMD Heart Protection Trial. He endured 7 hours of tests including ECG, Cardio, blood tests. lung capacity tests, numerous scans, physical tests, motor skills, he was prodded and poked all over and never complained once. He even had to sign his own consent form to take part. He is such a brave little boy and we are so proud of him.

If anybody can spare £1 you can text DUCH22£1 and send to 70070 to donate to duchennenow . Every £ donated goes to help find a cure or even a treatment for this terrible disease. Thankyou so much. xx

Just a piece of pretty card

I made this large 8x8 card very easily with just a piece of pretty card from the Hunkydory kit i was given. I attached it to a piece of American cardstock, tied a piece of organze ribbon into a bow and attached a slider. A simple greeting with a pearl added and this is the result. I just love the pastel colours, very me, lol TFL xx

Framelits Easel

Thought i would use a different colour for this card, i'm getting in a bit of a rut with all the pastel cards i make. For this card i used a sizzix framelits set for the flowers. In the set you get the stamps and the dies, great value. The sentiment is computer generated using Scriptina and a dingbat font , both of which i downloaded from dafont. I finished off with a bow and some pearls. Hope you like. TFL xx

Hunkydory easel

Similar to my previous hunkydory card made from a kit, but this time i played about and chopped it up, added a different backing card and made it into an easel. Although it's a bit bright and colourful for me i quite like it. TFL xx

Louis' had his echo heart scan yesterday, GOOD NEWS... his heart is the correct size with normal function. A great relief for all of us. He is such a brave little boy.

Rolled Flowers.

My sister has asked me to make her a batch of cards and she especially likes the easel style, good job really cos i'm addicted to making them lol. This is another really simple card. I have made some rolled flowers and put pretty pink beads inside. For this one i used the spellbinders fancy labels die as a stopper. TFL xx

Hunkydory card kit

I made this from a Hunkydory kit that i had forgotten about. I got the kit for my birthday from my daughter and found it whilst i was searching for something else. I made the card as per the instructions but just added a leafy flourish, a few flowers , some gems and a Craftwork Cards sentiment, just to tart it up a bit. lol (Sorry about the naff photo) TFL xx

Another Easel

Same ole, same ole, lol, but i just can't stop making these easel cards. I used American cardstock again and some simple die cut shapes. Just a bit of layering, a large rose and a few gems to finish. I used a big bow again as a stopper. My tying of bows is getting better, although i think i might invest in a bow maker. if anybody has one, i would love your verdict on it. TFL xx

Swirly butterflies

Morning everyone. Sun is shining here today, but it's blimming cold, i was freezing in bed last night, think i need to get some thick jim jams lol. Well on to the card. As you can tell i'm in love with this butterfly die. I used mostly the same ingrediants as my last card but just a different layout. I love the backing paper, think i will have to get another pad before it's discontinued. Hope you like it. TFL xx

Card for my friend

Made this easel card for my friend linda. Although it looks really simple it took quite a time. For the corners i used a Marianne die. Each corner of the card had to be cut and then embossed seperately without flattening the other corners. A bit tricky but i got there in the end, lol. TFL x

True friends No 2

Practically the same design as before but this time i decided on an easel card and chose White and Peach. The hardest part was tying the bow, and trying to get it to look half decent. Think i need a bit more practice in that department, although i am quite happy with the end result. TFL xx
