I made this simple card by first cutting out 4 circles with nesties on a square piece of card. I then rounded the corners and stuck to a 6 inch card blank with foam pads. I decorated with craftwork cards, flowers, card candi and sentiment. Simple. TFL x
The criteria on the Less is more challenge this week was "Masculine". Had to get me thinking cap on 'cos i haven't made a "Man" card for ages.
For this weeks challenge i used ivory linen card in D/L landscape format, I used Stampin-up backing paper. I cut a frame from a circle nestie and used a sizzix die for the stars. The sentiment was computer generated. TFL x
Thankyou Mandi & Chrissie, i am really enyoying these challenges. x
I made this for an order. Each of the 12 portions is to be filled with scrummy chocolates. I used my favourite flower die, and some pretty flowers from Wild orchid crafts,I added a ribbon to finish. I made a cake box with an acetate window and decorated to match. Hope she likes it. TFL x
Over on the "Less is More" challenge this week, the criteria was a OLC being "off the edge". Crikey, Mandi and Chrissie definately made this a challenge for me. lol. Not having any rubber stamps, i decided to use a Pink Petticoat image. I turned the image slightly and changed the colour. I added a few tiny sparkly gems, so i hope this still counts as one layer. No card today, but Louis my lovely grandson who has DMD wanted me to show you his new splints. He has to wear these to bed everynight and he never complains. They are animal print and he thinks they are very trendy, lol.
Crikey, nearlly forgot to upload my card for this week. The challenge for this week was "Pastels". I used white linen card, with a couple of layers and embossed a frame with my hougie board.I cut out the flower image with a nestie shape .The only thing i'm not sure about is the fact that there is no sentiment, but i didn't know where to put one, lol. I live in Kent, and have been making cards for about 8 years. I have 2 gorgeous grandsons, Louis who is 9 and Fray is 4. My grandson Louis was diagnosed at 6 years old with having "DUCHENNE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY". This came as a complete shock to our whole family as we'd never heard about this form of muscle disease, nor is there any previous family history of this condition. The past year has been very painful for all of us, as we've had to learn a lot about Louis' condition and how he will be affected in the future.
There are a number of different types of muscular dystrophy, DUCHENNE being the most severe form. All of which are caused by faults in the genes which cause a cruel, progressive muscle weakness due to muscle cells breaking down which in time are gradually lost. This is a very rare and serious condition, which affects around 100 baby boys per year in the U.K. By the age of 8 to 11 years all boys are unable to walk, and confined to a wheelchair, and for all boys, this conditions is so serious, it is 100% fatal.
If you would like to donate to our charity to help in the finding of a cure for Louis, and all the other boys suffering, then please contact me.
